Harry E. Buck, Jr., 84, of Jacksonville, passed away Wednesday, July 26, 2023 at The Grove in Jacksonville. He was born April 7, 1939 in Beardstown the son of Harry E. and Helen Keil Buck. He married Judy Carrigan July 27, 1963 and she survives.
Harry was a pharmacist for 50 years. He owned and operated Harry’s Pharmacy in Auburn for 12 years and later worked for Walgreens and Walmart. He was a member of the Church of Our Saviour and enjoyed spending time with his family, golfing, woodworking and his flowers.
He is also survived by his daughter, Teri (Melvin) Dambacher of Springfield; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Karen Buck of Foley, Alabama; son-in-law, Derrick Vetter of Lohman, Missouri; one sister, Janet (Jim) Faris of Niceville, Florida.
He was preceded in death by his son, Harry E. Buck III and his daughter, Mary Beth Vetter and four sisters, Carolyn Isham, Mary Treadway, Grace Pilger and Marguerite Summey.
A funeral mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, July 31, 2023 at the Church of Our Saviour with burial at Calvary Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to Our Saviour School or Jacksonville Food Bank.
