Superintendent Darren Root presented the board with the FY22 Tentative Tax Levy and it was approved by the board (7-0). This year, an 18 percent “balloon” levy will be submitted; however, the district will receive far less, around two or three percent. Last year the district asked for $6.3 million and received $5.4 million.

Districts regularly submit balloon levies so no funds are left unclaimed. The levy amount is based on EAV, the equalized assessed value of property in the district. Root said the total EAV for the district is $132,983,015 and the tax rate is the second lowest in the county at 4.13 percent.
