Monday’s two-hour regular meeting of the Auburn city council saw the council vote in favor of extending the city’s current ban on burning until its next meeting, July 6. 

The council also approved waiving of late fees or penalties on residents with delinquent utility accounts for another month, purchased a second pump for the city’s storm sewer system and agreed to keep the city’s burn pile open to residents on weekends. 

Mayor Tom Berola, along with Alderman Lori Basiewicz, city clerk Julie Barnhill and city treasurer Chris Warwick, were in the council chambers while the other seven alderman participated by Zoom.
