The Auburn Public Library is excited to unveil two fun new activities on the outside of the library.

The first activity is a sidewalk obstacle course hand painted by Library Aide Nicole Szymski. The obstacle course helps develop gross motor skills, and features color, shape, and letter recognition—and is just plain fun. The paint for the project was generously donated by the Chatham Ace Hardware and Lowe’s in Springfield.

The second activity is a story walk installed in the library windows. Get some fresh air together and read a sweet holiday book, “A Unicorn Named Sparkle’s First Christmas” by Amy Young. The story will stay up until the New Year, and was put together by Librarian Amanda Kendall. A copy of this book is also available for check out.

The library staff hopes that these activities will add some excitement to the community while indoor programming is not a possibility. For more information, visit the Auburn Public Library at 338 West Jefferson, Auburn, or call (217) 438-6211.
