Action to address the February gas bills highlighted the March 2 meeting of the Auburn city council, but the agenda also included some other major topics.
City attorney Greg Moredock did a first reading of Ordinance 1494-21 with the council, which would amend the city liquor code to add another Class A license. Moredock said the city had received an application on February 5 from Gold Mine Gaming, Inc., for a Class A - Tavern liquor license.
Bethany Murphy of Gold Mine Gaming addressed the council during the open forum, saying Gold Medal has six locations operating in this area and tries to have “a more upscale, classier atmosphere” than the usual gaming parlor. There were no questions or objections from any of the aldermen, and Moredock said “it seems there is a consensus of the council in favor of going ahead.”
