The Auburn city council handled a busy agenda at Monday’s 100 minute regular meeting. Among the action items were approval of plans to hold an electronic recycling day in September and to further upgrade the security system at the city office.

The council also voted 5-3 to put the city’s bidding process into ordinance form, following the recommendation of the Administration Committee.

Alderman Rod Johnson, the committee chair, said his committee had made its decision at a June 26 meeting. “We’ve been looking at our bidding process and how we proceed with bidding certain services in the city,” Johnson said. “We determined that we have been following most of the requirements anyway, but the question was, do we want to proceed as we were, or do we want to codify this into ordinance form?”
