section of Route 4 and Route 104 still need to be completed, but at least one alderman is concerned that signage may be required to cut down on potential driving hazards when street lights are eventually put in place.
Alderman Joe Powell notified the rest of the Council of concerns with the speed limit at the Route 4/104 junction. The stop lights have not been installed yet, though when they are the city does not have reduced speed signs for motorists traveling northbound from Virden to Auburn.
With no reduced speed signs on Route 4, vehicles could be traveling 55 mph or more trying to make it through the intersection. Powell said the city could drop the limit to 30 on Route 104, west of Route 4.
