Auburn School District Superintendent Darren Root said the district is set to receive a $2.1 million federal ESSER III (Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief) grant during the regular meeting of the Auburn School Board last Wednesday. If approved, the district should see the funds in July.
Root outlined what some of the funds will be used for which included textbook replacement, upgrading the broadband at the junior high, the elementary playground work (which will save sales tax/construction funds), three new school buses, HVAC roof units/air exchanges and flooring replacement, etc.
