The City of Auburn will be moving forward with a survey of residents about the city’s parks following action taken at the city council’s January 21 regular meeting. 

Mayor Tom Berola cast the deciding vote on the issue after the council was deadlocked at 4-4 on whether or not to proceed with the survey. 

Larry Hemmerle, chairman of the Parks Committee, reported on two recent PC meetings where the survey was a major topic of discussion. The committee met January 14 at which time the four members were divided on proceeding with the survey, which is being preparing with assistance from representatives of the University of Illinois and had an initial price tag of $9,965.
