The Auburn School Board approved (7-0) the 2021/22 tentative budget during its regular meeting last Wednesday. The total budgeted amount which includes all funds, totals $22,166,723 in revenues and $21,359,650 in expenditures, leaving the district with a healthy surplus of $807,073.
Superintendent Darren Root outlined revenue and expenditures in his budget presentation and said in the education fund, revenue is expected to be $16,006,661 with $15,594,762 in expenditures. Revenue sources include property taxes, state aid, federal grant money and school fees. Root said 83 percent of all funds expended by the district are in the education fund.
