Auburn High’s boys golf team went to 5-3 on the season with a narrow second place finish behind Lincolnwood in a four-team meet Monday at Shoal Creek in Raymond. Auburn shot a 162 total to finish one stroke behind the host Lancers (161) and ahead of Carlinville (193) and Mt. Olive (201). 

Logan Kavish shot an even-par 36 for medalist honors that included three consecutive birdies on the 5th, 6th and 7th holes. Luke Boesdorfer was next with 39, followed by Klayton Komnick with 43 and Drew Grosenheider with 45. Other AHS scores were Hunter Bartolazzi with 47 and Tyler Smith with 49. 

The Trojans shot an identical 162 total at Timber Lakes last Friday to defeat Mt. Olive (199) in a dual meet. Boesdorfer and Komnick tied for medalist honors with three-over 39’s and Kavish (41) and Smith (43) rounded out the low four scorers.
