Auburn High’s wrestling team continued their great season with a third place finish in the loaded Princeton Invitational over the weekend, the best finish ever by the Trojans at the PIT.
Auburn scored 188 points to finish behind only Dakota (212) and Vandalia (195) in the 34- team meet. The Trojans also had seven wrestlers place in the top seven, the most ever. The best previous finish at the PIT was a sixth place last year.
Caleb Nix and Dresden Grimm led the way with second place finishes, Nix at 145 and Grimm at 120. Also placing in the top eight were Gervasio Marchizza and Charlie Patterson (third), Kalique Edwards and Gage Lopez (fourth), Shane Trimingham (sixth) and Mikel Ent (eighth).
