The Auburn Lady Trojans advanced to the finals of the Class 2A Regional at Doglio Gym with two wins before falling to top-seeded Pleasant Plains 51-28 in the championship game Saturday.

The AHS girls finished with a 21-10 overall record, which Coach Dave Farris said exceeded his expectations. “I didn’t see this team winning 21 games when the season started,” Farris commented. “But the girls did.”

Auburn opened the Regional with a 44-27 victory over Beardstown, then rallied from 11 points down at the half to nip Tri-City/Sangamon Valley 33-31 in Friday’s semifinals.
