Simmi Mander and Amber Ehrlich took down the top-seeded doubles team from Normal U-High to highlight the Glenwood High School girls tennis team’s victory at last weekend’s Central State Eight Conference Tournament at Washington Park.

The Titans dominated the meet, scoring enough points on Friday to clinch the title before any matches were contested on Saturday. Glenwood’s entrants finished first and third in doubles and third and fourth in singles. That performance netted the Titans 34 team points, with SHG (26) second and U-High (25) third. Springfield High (19) was fourth, and Rochester (18) fifth. This was Glenwood’s second consecutive CS8 title.

Mander and Ehrlich avenged a defeat earlier this season to Brooke Martin and Haley Martin of U-High, posting a 6-3, 6-1 victory in the doubles championship match.
