The Ball-Chatham Board of Education held its regular meeting for June last Thursday at the District Office. All board members except Susan Worley were in attendance.

The meeting lasted just over an hour and included the recognition of the GMS track and field state champions and medalists, with head coach Max Wollet introducing the team members on hand.

The board approved a slew of personnel moves, including the hiring of four administrators. Maggie Kuykendall, currently the Supervisor with the South Macoupin County Special Education Cooperative, has been hired as the Director of Special Education.

Three assistant principals were also hired, including Sarah Dowis and Mia Suarez at Glenwood High School. Dowis has taught the last seven years at Glenwood Middle School, while Suarez was an assistant principal the last two years in the Peoria School District.

Michael Lezon has been hired as an assistant principal at Chatham Elementary. He spent the last 13 years in Rochester, including two as an assistant principal.
