The Glenwood High School varsity girls basketball team split its two games against the Decatur schools last week, blitzing Eisenhower 86-16 and falling to 63-46 to defending CS8 champion MacArthur.
•Against Eisenhower, senior Alex Johnson was the catalyst for the blizzard of points, as she scored 15 of her career-high 25 points in the first quarter. Johnson had a perfect shooting night, making all four of her two-point field goal attempts, all four of her three-point field goal attempts and all five of her free throws.
Glenwood (1-2) led 32-9 after one quarter, 55-11 at halftime and 77-13 after three periods, with the fourth quarter played with a running clock.
Kate Matthews added 19 points for the Titans, followed by: Ali Matthews (10), Maddie Ealey (8), Lily Randolph (5), Megan Slaton (5), Makenna Yeager (4), Tierra Bradfield (4), Anna Chambers (3), Karley Hawkins (2) and Erin Mansfield (1).
