The Chatham Friends of the Parks will present the Chatham Paws-A-Palooza event Saturday, Sept. 21, from 2-9 p.m. at Community Park.

This pet-friendly (please keep dogs on a leash) and family-friendly event will promote pet adoption, responsible ownership and pet welfare while raising money for the construction, upkeep and continued improvements of a proposed new public dog park in Chat-ham.

Activities include a pet blessing, meet-and-greet with APL adoptable pets, mobile groomers, police K-9 demo, training/agility demonstration, pet/owner contest, pet-themed vendors, art vendors, pet ‘relief area,’ commemorative T-shirts and more.

Food and drink will be provided by the Chatham Jaycees, and there will be beer sales. Live music will be presented by Josie Lowder, The Love of Lennon, The Get Down and The Groove Daddies.

Please be prepared to clean up after your dog. There will be clean-up bags on site, plenty of water bowls and doggie pools to cool off. Crafters and vendors are being sought for this event. Send an e-mail to Sherri for an application at amshmomsh@aol.com, or call 217-741-7855.
