The Glenwood Titans boys baseball team scored eight runs in the final three innings to pull away from Rochester and post a 10-2 victory last Saturday to win the Class 3A Taylorville Regional title.

The teams combined for five home runs, with Luke Lehnen getting things started with a two-run pop fly shot over the short right-field porch in the top of the first.

Lehnen added a two-run single in the sixth, and the Titans turned what was a 2-2 contest in the fifth into a rout. Lehnen boosted his average to .419, tops among the regulars on the team.

The Rockets committed four errors, while GHS had none. Last season, Glenwood defeated Rochester 6-0 to win the Decatur MacArthur Sectional title.

•Glenwood advances to the Springfield SHG Sectional, where they were to face Charleston in a semifinal contest Wednesday. SHG takes on Effingham in the other semi, with the sectional championship game set for Saturday at 11 a.m. The Sauget Super-Sectional is scheduled for Monday, June 3, at 4 p.m. at GCS Park.

•Drew Detmers (7-1, 1.00 ERA) started against the Rockets and got one out in the fifth inning before being relieved by Evan Rightnowar, who got the final eight outs, including four by strikeout. 

Detmers threw 74 pitches, 45 for strikes. He struck out seven and issued no walks, but he did hit three batters. Rightnowar (2.58 ERA) threw 33 pitches, including 20 for strikes. He earned his third save of the season.
