The shortened, spring 2021 high school football season ended last Friday night for the Glenwood Titans, who were pummeled 60-14 by the host Rochester Rockets.
The Rockets (5-1), the defending Class 5A state champions, raced to a 36-0 lead 17 minutes into the game and most of the second half was played with a running clock.
Rochester dominated nearly every statistical category and enjoyed a 497-107 edge in total yards. The Rockets also had 33 first downs, to nine for the Titans. Glenwood finished the season at 4-2.
“They beat us in all three phases of the football game tonight,” stated an emotional GHS head coach David Hay. “But, my focus now is on what this team did and I told them I’ve never been prouder of a team and I’ll never forget this team for everything they’ve been through.”
