Auburn pounded out 12 hits including seven doubles to prevail in a 17-12 slugfest over Athens in the Sangamo Conference opener for both teams last Tuesday. Auburn High’s track and field teams both were winners in a four-team meet at Potts Field last Thursday. Auburn had 14 firsts to easily win the boys meet with 130 points over New Berlin (83), Riverton (22) and Pawnee (19).
