Anthony Tyler “A-Train” Frantz, 28, of Springfield, died Friday, December 31, 2021, at St. John’s Hospital.

Anthony was born July 30, 1993, in Springfield, the son of Keith Frantz and Sherry Flagg Churchill.

He graduated from Riverton High School in 2011 and earned a degree from the Universal Technical Institute in Chicago. Anthony worked as a diesel mechanic.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Wayne E. and Susan Y. Frantz.

Anthony is survived by his father, Keith Frantz of Divernon; mother, Sherry (Mike) Churchill of Sequim, Wash.; grandparents, Albert and Tina Flagg of Springfield; great-grandmother, Norma Holliday of Springfield; brothers, David (Morgan) Frantz of Mechanicsburg and Wyatt Frantz and John (Cortlyn Blakeman) Oxford of Springfield; niece, Gabriella Frantz; nephew, Cooper Frantz; many aunts, uncles and cousins; and beloved dog, Diesel.

Visitation: Family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Friday, January 7, 2022, at Butler Funeral Home – Springfield, 900 S. Sixth St. Funeral Ceremony: 10 a.m. on Saturday, January 8, 2022, at Butler Funeral Home – Springfield, with Pastor Gregory Dungey officiating. Illinois COVID-19 guidance will be followed, requiring face coverings. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
