Roger K. Moore, 66, of Springfield, went to his eternal home on April 21, 2021, surrounded by his family after fighting a long battle with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis.

Roger was born in Decatur, the son of Frederick and Janet Moore. He married Penny Bernotas in 1984.

Roger was a Southeast High School graduate. He was a Lieutenant for the Springfield Park Police and retired after 23 years. He worked at the Yamaha motorcycle shop and loved to ride motorcycles and four-wheelers.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 37 years, Penny Moore of Springfield; two daughters, Halley (Adam) Walter of Riverton and Hannah (Jason Eccleston) Moore of Springfield; four grandchildren; beloved dog, Teddy; two siblings; one aunt; one uncle; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Cremation will be provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center prior to ceremonies. Memorial Gathering will be 4:30-7 p.m. on Friday, April 30, 2021 at Butler Funeral Home-Springfield, 900 S.
