Duane Lowell Henson, 84, formerly of Pawnee, passed away Friday, March 26, 2021 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.
He was born August 9, 1936 in Divernon, the son of Harold R. and Freda (Boston) Henson. He married Rita Ann Clark in 1959. She preceded him in death in 2011.
He was also preceded in death by two children, Theresa and Thomas.
Duane served in the U.S. Army from February 1957 to February 1959. He retired as a face boss from Peabody Mine #10. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Pawnee and St. Rita Catholic Church in Kincaid. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #6379 in Pawnee.
Surviving are his children, Marlene (Greg) Howard of Pawnee, Michael (Teri) Henson of Bulverde, Texas, Mary (Scott) Dambacher of Divernon, Matthew (Renee) Henson of Pawnee, Monica Henson of Waverly, Marcella (Donald) Farley of Riverton; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and sister Dixie Edge of Roseville.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of memorial Service at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 1, 2021 at Masterson Funeral Home in Kincaid. Fr. Anthony Swamy Choppraw will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Pawnee.
