Lyle Bennett Lenkart, 56, of rural Chatham, died Tuesday, February 9, 2021, at St. John’s Hospital.
He was born January 12, 1965, in Springfield, the son of Ben and Annie Lenkart.
Lyle graduated from Glenwood High School and went on to become a “master of all trades.” He was a lifelong resident of the Springfield and Chatham area.
He is survived by his father, Bennett W. Lenkart; sister, Laurel (Walter) Howe; sister-in-law, Karen Lenkart.
Cremation will be provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center.
Family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. on Saturday, February 20, 2021, at Butler Funeral Home – Springfield, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. A memorial ceremony will follow at 3:00 pm with the Very Rev. Christopher House officiating. COVID-19 guidance will be followed, requiring face coverings and limiting attendance to 50 guests at one time. Burial will be held at a later date at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
