Darleen K. Mittelstaedt, 74, of Chatham, died Thursday, October 31, 2019, at her residence.
She was born October 19, 1945, in Baraboo, Wisconsin, the daughter of Duane and Beatrice (Bixby) Armson. She married Edwin Mittelstaedt in 1967. She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Gregg Bish.
Darleen graduated from Wisconsin Dells High School in 1964 and became a cosmetologist. She was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church.
She is survived by her husband, Ed; sons, Sean Mittelstaedt of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Matthew Mittelstaedt of Lerna; daughters, Gretchen Bish of Fremont, Michigan, Lori (husband, James) Anderson of Palm Desert, California and Sara (husband, David) Baer of Springfield; 10 grandchildren; and siblings, Jerry (wife, Peggy) Armson of Black River Falls, Wisconsin and Cheryl Coon of Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin.
Funeral Mass was held Tuesday, November 5 at St. Joseph the Worker Church with Rev. Allen Kemme, celebrant. A graveside ceremony was held at Camp Butler National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to MS Society, 3309 Robbins Road #206, Springfield, IL 62704. Butler Funeral Home in Chatham was in charge of arrangements.
