Thanksgiving is here, and hopefully everyone out there is celebrating safely with their families. It is 2020, and as we adhere to our marching orders and limit our gathering sizes this holiday season, we will be treated to Houston vs. Detroit and Washington vs. Dallas on Thanksgiving Day. Perfect...

However, the Fighting Illini men's basketball season gets underway this week, and I'm here to provide you with some positive news as I always do! We've got Chicago State vs. Illinois at 11 a.m., followed by St. Louis U at Nebraska on Thursday! We don't know how this season is going to play out, what players could be impacted by the virus or quarantined, etc., but we do have a legitimate top 10 team in the country in our backyard. And it should be exciting to see how good this Illini group can be, especially after last season's team got short-changed at the end with no NCAA Tournament...

•I'm going to be all over the place this week, so you have been warned...it is 2020, so it's time to hand out International Emmy Awards to Democratic Governors. First up is Andrew Cuomo of New York, who is being honored for his daily televised briefings during the COVID-19 pandemic. Nevermind that cases continue to rise in New York, which has seen over 580,000 cases of the coronavirus, including more than 34,000 deaths. Is this really the time to be handing out awards and/or taking 'victory laps?' Hundreds of thousands of people have fled New York City alone over the past few months, but none of that factors in either, apparently...
