No, I'm not trying to jinx anything, but as the calendar turned to March and I found myself on a (very crowded) golf course last weekend, it sure feels like we've turned the corner from winter to some semblance of spring. I'm not asking for much, but a windy day in the 50s feels pretty good right now. It just feels like it's been wet, freezing or snowing for four months straight, and I know I'm not the only one who is sick and tired of it...

Brad Underwood and his staff have contract extensions, and the Fighting Illini head into the final two games of the regular season jockeying for position in the Big Ten Tournament, and also positioning themselves for the NCAA Tournament. It's hard to imagine any scenario where the Illini are not NCAA bound at this point, so it's about staying healthy, improving seeding and maybe (just maybe) getting to play close to home (St. Louis?)...

Some of these 'bracketology' people are amusing, to say the least. In the end, none of it means anything. But I saw the other day where Wisconsin was projected as a 5 seed and Illinois as an 8 (and in Kansas' bracket, no less)...

And the Big Ten is so loaded, there may be like a five-way tie for the conference title, who knows. With such a muddled picture, I can see why the NCAA committee will have challenges spreading all of those teams out equally...
