The Cardinals, Cubs and White Sox are all in the playoffs, though it could be a short postseason ride for all. Anything can happen in a three game series, especially a three game series played in one stadium with no fans and no off days. I have no clue how the Cardinals are a playoff team, but the Reds, Brewers and Marlins are playoff teams also. It was a crazy, jam-packed finish for the Cardinals, and somehow staying above .500 has them into the postseason.
You may have expectations for the White Sox or the Cubs, but I have absolutely none for the Cardinals. The offensive woes are well-documented, so much so that I've pretty much given up on pointing them out. When you see what guys like Marcell Ozuna and Luke Voit and others are doing, that garners more attention for me these days. My goodness, John Mozeliak, how many bad decisions can you make?
Anyway, pitching is the key for the Cardinals, obviously, but they have had to deal with injuries and a very uneven season from Jack Flaherty. I haven't watched too many games, but I've seen Flaherty get hit hard several times. A couple of solid starts and some offensive life and who knows, anything can happen. I'm not expecting any miracles, however...
