Track meet after track meet after (track meet?) is taking its toll on your favorite columnist, who has nearly been eaten alive by bugs in the past couple of weeks. If it flies and it bites, it finds me. A lot. But I will press on, so enjoy the rants...

•Well, it's another Tuesday night, and another series clincher for the St. Louis Blues! And deadlines are being ignored again to give you 'instant' reaction here! So...down 2-1 in the series after that awful hand pass/overtime loss, the Blues hunkered down and took over. The NHL screwed up, but the Blues made sure to make that a footnote in history...

The Sharks got run over in Game 5 in their own building, and then, a depleted San Jose squad was overmatched in Game 6. Still, it took a sharp Jordan Binnington to make sure of things, and Binnington made some pretty darn big saves when you look back at it. All the drama, all the crying, all the whatever you want to say - the better team won. And the better team also had the better goalie, and that's paramount in the NHL playoffs, as even a bitter former NFL fan and golf nerd like me knows...

•I've had enough of Mike Milbury, let's just say that...

•And Jeremy Roenick? Go back to Chicago, dude...

•I haven't had enough of Kathryn Tappen, I'll admit...
