The Riverton Village Board approved an ordinance regarding optional payment plans because of COVID at Monday’s regular meeting.
Affecting only about 40 accounts, it will allow residents a six-month option to catch up on any outstanding bills (to be set up by Sept. 1), with one-sixth of the bill being due each month beginning Sept. 17.
Disconnects will resume on Sept. 10, and the board encourages those with concerns about paying to reach out to the village hall promptly to set up a plan.
