The Rochester school board approved the hiring of Russell Clover as the school district’s interim superintendent for the 2019-20 school year as a special meeting held Wednesday, May 29.
Clover, 71, will begin his duties July 1, taking over from Bruce Hays, who was hired in March as a replacement for Dr. Lance Thurman for the remainder of the 2018-19 school year. School board president Randy Hawkins confirmed that Dr. Thurman remains on temporary paid administrative leave while Clover’s contract is for 120 days.
