The search process for a new superintendent for the Rochester School District is underway, and an update was provided by board president Randy Hawkins at Monday’s regular school board meeting at the Bruce Hays District Administrative Center.
The board had just enough members for a quorum, with Hawkins, Dennis File, Amy Reynolds and Todd Goebel in attendance. Absent were Nikki O’Dell, Bill Yattoni and Dr. Christie Magoulias. Regular session lasted a half hour before the board adjourned to closed session for personnel and litigation.
The superintendent search is being led by Dr. Bill Phillips of Midwest School Consultants. Hawkins said that Phillips told him that ‘six strong candidates’ have emerged so far in the process.
