Rochester High senior Karlie Schnepp completed her outstanding career by winning the individual title at last Thursday’s Class 1A Girls Golf Sectional at The Rail.
On a windy, overcast fall day, Schnepp shot a seven-over par 79 to finish in a three-way tie for first with Faith Davis of Williamsville and Sofia Lowis of Sacred Heart-Griffin. Schnepp then sank a birdie putt on the first playoff hole to win her first Sectional medalist title.
Schnepp, playing in the next-to-last group that started on the front nine, birdied the par-4 opening hole but then added two bogeys around a double-bogey six at the 3rd. She settled down to finish the front side with four pars and a bogey at the 8th to go out in 40.
