Led by three finishers in the top six, the Williamsville High School boys golf team took second at the Illini Bluffs Regional Tuesday in Bartonville to clinch a spot in the sectional all the way up in Sherrard Monday.
WHS totaled 362 strokes, five behind the host Tigers and 17 ahead of third place PORTA.
The top two teams and four individuals not on one of those two teams advance to the sectional.
Carson Conklin shot 88 (45-43) and finished third, five shots off medalist honors, while Caleb Stuenkel tied for fourth after shooting 89 (37-52). Ryan Farris was fifth (48-42-90), while Will Seman shot 95 (50-45), Cole Brewer 101 (51-50), and Austin Mendenhall 109 (49-60).
