Williamsville High School football coach Aaron Kunz emphasized the importance of a quick start this week against the visiting Fairfield Mules, especially after a poor start last week against the Beardstown Tigers.

The Bullets definitely heeded the coach’s call, running out to a 21-0 lead and cruising to a 35-16 win over the Mules in the second round of the Class 3A playoffs at Paul Jenkins Field.

The Mules (9-2) did not pick up a first down until midway through the second quarter, and the stout Bullet defense limited them to only 126 rushing yards (well below their almost 350 yards per game average).
